Simulation Engineer

A candidate for the "simulation engineer" will perform electromagnetics simulations using package programs on parallel computers, plot results, and write reports. The work also involves exciting research topics. The "simulation engineer" will be expected to have (most of) the following qualifications:

  • Programming in MATLAB, Fortran, C, C++ and other languages
  • Familiarity with parallel computing (please specify)
  • Data plotting, graphical representation of data
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows/MacOS systems as a user (not administrator)
  • Report writing (in Turkish and English)
  • Web page preparation at the basic level in order to display research results
  • Electromagnetics, microwaves/antennas, and numerical analysis courses in the undergraduate curriculum
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Following qualifications are not mandatory, however, they will serve as a plus for the applicant:
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation programs (such as, CST, FEKO, HFSS, Sonnet)
  • Experience with CAD software (such as, I-DEAS, NX6, ProEngineer, Nastran, AutoCAD)
  • Install and maintain Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems as an administrator
  • Parallel computing: setting up parallel computers, MPI, parallel programming
  • Prior experience with programming in accordance with military standards and other quality standards.

Parallel Computer System Administrator

A candidate for the "Parallel Computer Systems Administrator" position should be a computer and technology guru with essential education and experience. The “Administrator" will be expected to undertake the following tasks:

  • Parallel computing: MPI, setting up parallel computers, support for parallel programming
  • Administration of Linux and Windows systems
  • Maintain hardware
  • Market search and purchasing of new hardware and software
  • Install and maintain Windows and Linux OS
  • Data storage and backup
  • Purchase, install, and maintain commercial programs
  • Download, install, and maintain freeware programs
  • Web page preparation at the basic level
  • Networking (Ethernet and wireless networks)
  • Network security, firewalls
  • Data security (anti-virus and restricted access)
  • Set up and maintain shared file systems
  • Keeping computer inventory

Knowledge of the following tasks is not mandatory, however, will serve as a plus for the candidate:

  • Programming in Fortran, C, C++, MATLAB
  • Prior experience with programming in accordance with military standards and other quality standards

Parallel Programmer

A candidate for the "parallel programmer" position should be an expert programmer with prior parallel-programming education and experience. The candidate is expected to be highly familiar with the following tasks and concepts:

  • Parallel programming with MPI, OpenMP, threads, POSIX
  • Multi-core, distributed, and SMP architectures
  • Networking: Infiniband, Myrinet, RDMA
  • Tracing and analyzing parallel programs
  • Parallelization strategies and algorithm design
  • Scalability optimization
  • Communication-computation overlapping
  • Programming in Fortran, C, C++, MATLAB
  • Programming and porting over multiple platforms: various architectures and OSs
  • Parallel debuggers
  • Programming in accordance with standards

  • Constructing parallel clusters
  • Developing web-based interfaces to parallel program engines
